Why Should We Dream Big?
This article is an extension to my earlier one titled: “How to overcome Fear of Failure & Live your Dreams?” published on June 15, 2021. The fundamental questions that we want to address through this article are:
- Why should we even dream?
- Why should we dream big?
- Is dreaming part of the real life?
- Does it help assessing our capacity?
To me, the answers are as follows:
- We should dream or aspire for things that we want to achieve in life.
- We should dream big about the life we want to lead and the difference we want to make around us.
- Yes, our big dreams tell us about the person we want to be. Dream big because we might surprise ourselves.
- We have to dream big because until we do, we’ll have no idea what we’re capable of.
There’s just no excuse not to dream big. Dreaming big isn’t about giving up on our exisitng dreams and settling for less — it’s about pushing ourselves to be the best person we can be because only we know that there is more out there for us if we’re willing to put in some extra effort.
Here, we’ll discuss 05 reasons why dreaming big is important:
1. Dreaming is free
Always remember that it doesn’t cost us anything to dream. This is why dreaming is the first step that everyone must take before they can do anything else, like achieving their goal or success in life.
Dreaming opens up a world of possibilities and offers hope for all dreamers’ goals! As long as we keep chasing our dreams with right focus, hard work and discipline then there’s no stopping it from coming true one day! Only dreamers dream big. They dream of a world where anything is possible, and they take action to make it happen.
2. Key step to Achieve Goals
No dreamer on this planet earth has ever achieved his/her goals without dreaming big. Goals are great, but they aren’t enough to motivate us when times get tough or the stakes seem high.
We need that vision of an ultimate goal in order to push ourselves through those moments — and if our dream is coming true one small step at a time, then it’s all worth it!
3. Dreamers are Happier People
People who dream big are happier than people who settle for less. This is because the pursuit of happiness and a sense of accomplishment is always connected to dreamers’ goals. More resilient people with high self-esteem will be able to rebound from failure in their eyes quickly as they know that even if this goal doesn’t work out, there are many other opportunities waiting around the corner!
They also understand what it takes to dream big — which can eventually lead them on an easier path towards success. And when someone reaches those impossible dreams, like winning gold medals at an Olympic Games or winning Oscars, or something extraordinary achievement, they feel so triumphant about themselves and life that they experience increased levels of well-being!
4. Lesser the Dreams, Bigger the Vacuum
People start to dream about what they want in life and it gives them hope. This is because without hope, people feel empty inside and unfulfilled with the current direction or path that they are on!
Also remember, that dreaming lets people know where they’re headed to in life so that nothing else will be uncertain for them. The more we dream about something, the clearer our future becomes. Of course, we have to work towards and have a right direction for making that dream come true.
5. Bigger the Goal, the More Likely We’re to Succeed
The more people dream big, the more likely they are to succeed! A lot of people when faced with difficult tasks just give up because they don’t think their goals are worth pursuing anymore, which is why it’s important to dream big even if we’re faltering from time to time because anything can happen as long as we keep dreaming till our dreams come true.
It doesn’t matter how small or insignificant something may seem; all that matters is that we believe in it and ourselves.
Closing Thoughts
As Harriet Tubman once said: “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world”. The world is waiting for us and our ideas. We have the power to change our own lives and those around us. Let’s make a difference on earth, take risks and do what scares us because dreams are worth chasing.
We have to believe in dreaming big! Don’t be afraid to dream bigger than anyone else out there — it takes courage but will lead to amazing things. Dreaming small won’t get us very far when we live in such incredible times where so much can happen with just one person’s passion. We’ve nothing to lose and everything to gain.
